Radiological, Surgical, and Pathological Anatomy of the Head and Neck
Segment 1: Oropharynx and Larynx
A course providing a comparative analysis of radiological, surgical, and pathological head and neck anatomy using 3D visualization to improve diagnostic work-up and therapeutic planning in head and neck malignancies. Diagnostic and therapeutic gray zones are addressed through multidisciplinary discussion of paradigmatic clinical cases, supporting clinical decision making guided by shared multidisciplinary expertise.

Course Rationale
In head and neck oncology, the growing emphasis on post-treatment quality of life has driven the development of therapeutic strategies ai-med at reducing morbidity while preserving oncological effectiveness. This evolution has supported the adoption of minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical approaches, particularly in the management of laryn-geal and oropharyngeal malignancies, where anatomical complexity and biological heterogeneity directly influence clinical outcomes.
Sponsored by the EHNS Academy, this second European course -Seg-ment 1: Oropharynx & Larynx-provides acomparative analysis of radio-logical, surgical, and pathological anatomyof these anatomical subsites,leveraging3D visualizationto enhance diagnostic accuracy and optimize therapeutic strategies. Particular emphasis is placed ondiagnostic and therapeutic gray zones, which are addressed throughmultidisciplinary discussion of paradigmatic clinical cases, promotingclinical decision ma-king guided by shared multidisciplinary expertise.
The course is structured into two full daily modulesdedicated to the larynx and the oropharynx, complemented bya half-day session focused on cross-disciplinary topicsthat are common to both anatomical sites and relevant across specialties.
Segment1: Oropharynx & Larynx
All anatomical dissections and surgical demonstrations are captured and broadcast entirely in3D, enhancing spatial understanding and in-terdisciplinary integration.
This segment is designed for Radiologists, Head and Neck Surgeons,Otolaryngologists, Maxillofacial Surgeons, Neurosurgeons, Medical and Radiation Oncologists, Oral and Plastic Surgeons, and Pathologists with a specific interest in laryngeal and oropharyngeal oncology.
- Anatomical overview of the oropharynx/parapharyngeal spaces: online preparatory lesson delivered before the meeting.
- Anatomical overview of the larynx/hypopharynx: onlinepreparatory lesson delivered before the meeting.
