Dr. Sefik Hosal is currently a Professor at the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Atilim University, Ankara, Turkey.
He obtained his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Ankara. He completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology at the same University. He was appointed as a Professor in 2003.
Dr. Sefik Hosal did his postgraduate training as a research fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He did his clinical fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, USA.

He has more than 100 national and international publications. He is the pioneer of “Multidisciplinary Teamwork in head & neck cancer” in Turkey. He is the founder and General secretary of “The Turkish Head and Neck Cancer Society”. He is an Executive Council Member of the International Federation of Head and Neck Oncologic Societies (IFHNOS) and the Asia-Pacific Society of Thyroid Surgery (APTS). He is currently the General Secretary of the European Head & Neck Society (EHNS).

Professor Sefik Hosal (M.D.) received his medical degree from Hacettepe University Medical Faculty, Ankara, Turkey. He completed his training in Otorhinolaryngology at the same University.

Dr. Sefik Hosal did his postgraduate training as a research fellow (1993-1994) at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Canada. He also worked as a visiting instructor (1998) at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He began his academic career in 1995 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Hacettepe University. He became an Associate Professor in 1996. He is currently a Professor at the Division of Head and Neck Surgery at the same University since 2003.

He has more than 150 national and international publications, and he has lectured on many topics in both national and international meetings.

He is a member of numerous national and international professional societies. He is the Turkish Representative of the European Head and Neck Society.
