Dear colleagues, 
 
I wanted to warmly invite you to RISEUK26, the largest multi-specialty Surgical Robotics & Innovation conference in the UK, with representation from all 4 Royal College of Surgeons. 
 
As we've been building the programme for RISEUK26, one area we've been particularly excited about is the strength of the Head & Neck Robotics faculty.
 
We're delighted to be welcoming Mr Asit Arora, who will be delivering a keynote entitled: "Beyond the Jaw: How Transoral Robotics Is Rewriting Head and Neck Cancer Surgery"
 
Alongside him, Professor Bindy Sahota will be delivering a keynote entitled:
 
Beyond the Console: Building the Teams, Training and Pathways That Make TORS Work
 
Rather than simply discussing robotic technology itself, they'll be exploring what it actually takes to build a successful robotic head and neck service from training and credentialling to multidisciplinary working and service implementation.
 
Alongside this, you'll have the opportunity to hear from global pioneers and heavyweights in multiple surgical specialties, including Professor Prokar Dasgupta OBE, who will also be taking part in a live international telesurgery demonstration, streamed live between Birmingham and an international surgical team.
 
Across the two days you'll also have the opportunity to:
 
• Experience hands-on robotic surgical platforms
• Explore how AI is changing surgical practice
• Discover XR technologies transforming surgical education
• Meet over 20 exhibitors showcasing the latest innovations in surgical technology
 
What I particularly like about RISEUK26 is that it isn't simply about showcasing technology. It's about understanding how innovation can be introduced safely, responsibly and in a way that genuinely improves patient care.

The 2nd Middle East Thyroid Summit represents a major regional initiative bringing together endocrinologists, surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, and healthcare leaders dedicated to thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer care. Scheduled for 27 and 28 August 2026 at Smart Health Tower, Sulaymaniyah, this important event builds on the success of the inaugural summit and aims to strengthen collaboration, share scientific advancements, and address the unique challenges of thyroid disease management across the Middle East.

XXVI Technical Congress of Pathological Anatomy

The Portuguese National Congress of Anatomical Pathology Technicians, the leading national meeting, will take place from 8–10 October 2026 in Oeiras, Portugal, gathering around 300 participants from various medical fields. The scientific programme will focus on digital pathology, molecular biology, macroscopy, and oncology. A full-day pre-congress course on Head & Neck Pathology will be held on 8 October, with approximately 80 participants.
